This series keeps getting better and better. Lincoln and Brinkley's story pushes that bar higher for the next book.

Brinkley Reynolds may be happy to be home with family, but she's not thrilled about the reason. Blackballed after a high-profile NFL player gets her fired and escorted from a press conference, she is trying to figure out her next steps in Cottonwood Cove. So far, helping out with her family's various businesses, hanging out with her niece, and gardening are her best options.

That is until said NFL player comes to town.

Lincoln Hendrix needed a break from the spotlight. Considering a move to a different team, he needed space and quiet to think about his next move. When his agent offers his vacation home in Cottonwood Cove, he jumps on the opportunity. He did not expect that the reporter who crossed his boundaries was the same woman he was ogling at the local shop. 

When they both realize that there has been some miscommunication between them, Lincoln agrees to let her break the news of his NFL move if she forgives him. But getting answers from Lincoln to help with her article requires spending a lot of time with football star. Soon, animosity becomes friendship, but even with the undeniable tension between them, would either cross the line to love?

I am here for the narrowed eyes and under-the-breath snarling kind of enemies-to-lover. Lincoln and Brinkley deliver that so well, and I love that it is nicely balanced with sizzling tension. Laura Pavlov delivers so well on the progression of their relationship. The spice? It is on point. Lincoln's mouth will certainly make you blush, and I love every moment of it.

This series would not be amazing without the Cottonwood Cove ensemble cast. The Reynolds siblings bring relatable and adorable to these pages, and I am ENVIOUS of the sibling dynamic. 

Listen, we're weeks away from kicking off the NFL season, and this book? It is a great amuse bouche if you are a football + romance fan.

I’m not the biggest fan of her either.
She’s equal parts stubborn and aggravating.
But she happens to be the sexiest woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.
So I try to make amends.
I’m not the devil after all.
But she won’t give me the time of day unless I agree to give her my story.
One I’ve fought hard to protect since the day I started playing professional ball.
I don’t owe Brinkley Reynolds anything.
So why am I considering giving her everything?
