BOOKWORM REVIEW: The Image of You by Melanie Moreland

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥

Angst, angst, angst, angst, and lots of angst. Did I mention angst?

If you want me to describe this book in one word, I just pretty much clued you into what you are in for.

When ER nurse Alexandra "Ally" Robbins and photojournalist Adam Kincaid met, it was almost as if they knew that they were meant to be together. The easiness of their connection, the constant draw toward one another.

But something happened that has kept them apart, and we go along the journey as Adam -- and eventually Ally -- fight for that connection once again.

Buckle up, kids! This ride is going to be a wild one. I love that we start in the middle when Ally and Adam were broken up, presenting us with a mystery and then Melanie Moreland takes us on this epic trip as we slowly peel off the layers of their story. There will be heartache, longing, and most importantly steamy romance.

This standalone second-chance read was enjoyable if you love going on angsty love journeys.

NOTE: This book was previously published as My Image of You in 2017.

ABOUT THE BOOK

From NYT best-selling author Melanie Moreland comes an epic love story of loss and redemption.

I realized in that one moment something was terribly wrong.

“I apologize,” she spoke, sounding formal.
“You have me at a disadvantage.”
Her hand rose in greeting. “I’m Alexandra Robbins…and you are?”

I stared at her hand and then her beautiful face.

The woman I had loved passionately—desperately—and still loved to this day.

My former fiancée…who was looking at me with no recognition.

As if I were a stranger to her.

And then it hit me as I took in the emptiness in her eyes.

I was.

I’d spent so much time trying to find my way back to her, only to have her not remember me.

One thing was for sure—I would spend my last breath trying to remind her who I was, who we were, and who we would eventually be again.

All I needed was the chance to show her.
