The final installment of Nick Hudson and Lyriope Morelli's whirlwind love story is finally here.

The third book begins with the fallout from Lyriope's decisions in the second book. Despite her betrayal, she and Nick still clearly love each other, and Nick still yearns for her like a man possessed. Will they be able to overcome the path she has chosen?

What I loved about this book and this series is the consistently spicy romance that Nick and Lyriope have built on since the first book. Each chapter just levels up from the previous, and Alta Hensley certainly delivers on the sizzling chemistry between the main characters.

The sexy love story was a nice balance to the action as Nick chases after Lyriope and deals with the Morellis. I think the pacing was spot on.

What has frustrated me since Book 2 is this weird shift in character by Lyriope. It is almost like a switch has been flipped, but not for the good reasons we expect from strong female leads in mafia romances. A lot of the decisions she makes really did not make any sense from the female character I adored in the first one.

Aside from that, this was still a fun read. If you like dark and sexy mafia romances, this series would be solid pick. All three books are interconnected so you will have to start from the very beginning.
