Harlow James is an absolute must-read for me, and this book is another reason why.

Save for her three best friends and brunch buddies, Penelope has never needed anyone else in her life, and she plans to keep it that way. Even when she felt the tingles that had her body saying "yes" after meeting NFL quarterback Maddox Taylor, she was not going to let a mind-blowing one-night stand change her no-relationship rules.

Then Maddox gets traded into the Los Angeles Bolts, and the Bolts hire her as their PR manager.

Maddox is not one to give up easily. He knows there was something more to his time with Penelope than just a fling, and he just needs time and a chance to prove that to her. 

I absolutely love these two. Penelope has always caught my attention in the previous two books in the series. She is independent, smart, and fearless, and she is the ride-or-die friend who is willing to go to the ends of the Earth with you. I was definitely excited to see her find her HEA, and this did not disappoint. 

Maddox is the fantastic sunshine to her somewhat grumpy. He is kind, considerate, and protective. A wonderful contradiction to the Maddox that show up in the bedroom, and I equally love that Maddox fiercely, too. How can one not when he is a dirty talker who knows how to push the right buttons?

This is the third book in the series, and while there are references to the other characters, it can be read as a standalone.

I have fallen in love with this universe, and it will be indeed bittersweet when Noelle's story comes out.
