You always count on Nana Malone to bring the spice, action, and suspense in any of her work, and The King is on par.
Saffron Abbot has always kept personal and business apart in her world. It is hard enough that her brother is her boss and that they are in the black ops business. Apparently, one night to let go and have some fun is too much to ask because that one night brings together the two parts of her world that she did not want to clash.
Lachlan King is the new addition to the Rogues. Trying to reform his playboy ways, he is putting himself into his new training, but cannot help to feel that there is more to his team leader than just his boss. Could she have been part of the past that he does not remember?
What do you do when Nana Malone serves you a fierce warrior FMC, a hot and sexy MMC, and lots of fun and steamy banter topped off with fast-paced action and spicy romance? You eat it up in one sitting and ask for more. (Thankfully, the next story in the series comes soon!)
Saff is a QUEEN. She takes no prisoners in both parts of her life, and she is not one to be pushed around. I love that she keeps Lachlan on his toes verbally and physically.
I think this book can work as a standalone, but you get better context into their relationship by reading the novella The Heir.
The ensemble cast also has endearing and relatable qualities. Yes, even overbearing Gabe. I cannot wait for their own stories. In fact, my countdown clock has definitely started for The Saint.
