Nana Malone does it again. Mum's the word on the twist to this novella because spoilers, but I love, love, love the irony.
Lachlan is tired of the limelight. The media has been on his back, monitoring and reporting his every move and painting him into this billionaire bad-boy persona. Okay, a good chunk of it might be true, but all of it is still exhausting. When he goes out with friends one night, a mysterious woman catches his eye. Could she be the reprieve he is looking for, or will she get him in deeper trouble than he already is involved in?
Saffron is also tired. She is a workaholic who lives in the shadow of her older brother. It doesn't help that said older sibling likes to breathe down her back and is her boss. After her friend Tabatha drags her out to have some fun, she runs into a handsome man who might be the fun work break she has been looking for.
This novella might be a short read, but it packs so much. So much mystery. So much action. So much background. So much spice. I know a Nana Malone series is likely to have a shocking cliffhanger, but I dive in headfirst anyway because the adventure on which she takes her readers is well worth the anxiety and excitement. Lock and Saff are not what we assume them to be, and this amuse-bouche to the Gentlemen Rogue series serves its role well by getting us intrigued and excited for what is to come.
The countdown to The King has officially begun, and I cannot wait to devour that book.
