BOOKWORM REVIEW: Broken by the Horde King by Zoey Draven

I think sometimes we hold the standard for fictional heroes too high. I love to read about someone who is flawed and who makes serious, sometimes hurtful mistakes, and go on a journey with them to find their redemption and HEA.

💪 What I love about Zoey Draven's series is that all of these horde kings are super alphas with their own unique flaws. In Broken by the Horde King, Kiran was too proud and overly protective of his childhood friend Maeva to give into his feelings. As someone who was young and inexperienced in a very important position in his kingdom, he made some BIG and incredibly hurtful decisions when it came to her.

⌛ Fast forward nine years later, he is now an established horde king looking for a healer, and guess who is one of the up-and-coming apprentices in his old village? Yup, none other than Maeva herself.

🩺Thankfully, after processing the heartbreak that Kiran put her through and other personal losses, Maeva has grown up into a no-nonsense, hardworking mokkira. After much cajoling and political gymnastics from Kiran, she agrees to be his horde's healer for a season.

Just enough time for Kiran to figure out how he can convince her to forgive him and to become his morakkari, his queen.
