BOOKWORM REVIEW: Runaway Love by Melanie Harlow

Yeah, sign me up!

Austin needed someone to take care of his twins. His sister Mabel, who is usually their caretaker, is leaving for an archaeological dig, and while it is certainly an inconvenience for him, Austin couldn't find it in his broody heart to say no. She has been tasked to find her temporary replacement, though, and he is not thrilled with whom she returned.

Veronica was supposed to be walking down the aisle and marrying what seem to be the perfect man. Too bad, he is more of a controlling jerk, and she just received dirty texts from him..meant for someone else. She leaves him at the altar, but unfortunately, in the time they were together, almost all of her identity and belongings were technically his. The horrible ex cuts her off as a lesson, so now she is stuck in Cherry Tree Harbor, jobless and homeless. A series of fortunate circumstances led her to the door of an adorable set of twins..and their gorgeous but grumpy father. When he eventually concedes to letting her take care of his children, their proximity does little to temper the sparks that fly between them.

I really enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Austin and Veronica was sizzling from the get-go and does not let up until The End. I adore their dynamic, especially around the twins. 

The spicy moments definitely raised the temperature. You know how much I love my dirty-talking daddies, and Austin just joined that fictional fraternity for me. 

What stole the show, however, is the dynamic between Austin and his siblings. Yes, we only meet three of them in this book, but even in absentia, the other two brothers made a significant impression. (Do I need to talk about the hints between Dash and a certain best friend of Mabel's? 👀

This was a fantastic kick-off to a promising series. I cannot wait for the next one!
