BOOKWORM REVIEW: Tempting the Neighbor by Ashley Munoz

Note to self: Don't start an Ashley Munoz book at 10pm. Because it guarantees that you'll be up most of the night trying to finish the book.

(Or you fall asleep while reading and your iPad falls on your face, but that's a story for another day.)

Nora Petrov is not a fan of her neighbor Colson Hanes. Not only is the man a pain in her behind that lives too close for her liking, but he also works for her overbearing father. That's the story she's trying to sell to everyone while harboring a secret crush on her father's right-hand man.

Colson wants nothing to do with Nora, either. And he's been somewhat successful in fooling everyone that he doesn't mess where he eats by messing with his boss' daughter. Just don't look too close and you won't see the lingering looks of longing he sends her way every time she's around. 

I love, love, love this enemies-to-lovers read. The emotional rollercoaster that Ashley Munoz sends her readers should make us opt to go to bed, but instead, it hypnotizes us to keep the pages turning until the words "The End" comes up. (Even then, we turn to see if there is an epilogue.)

The chemistry between Nora and Colson was already well-established if you read the first book in the Macon Mountain series. Despite their adversarial relationship, there was a strong hint of sizzle that had me waiting for this book, and Munoz delivered. That sizzle only grew into a big hot flame in this read, thanks to the flirty banter and spicy scenes.

Wonderfully infused into their hot romance is a great angsty story of pain and boundaries. I love that as they were discovering and navigating through their relationship, Nora and Colson also helped each other find the strength to deal with their pasts.

This is the second book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. We do see lots of Rae and Davis as they support the main characters. Just like we fell for Nora and Colson in the first book, Ashley Munoz gives us a nice teaser to whet our reading appetites for Haley and Liam.
