BOOKWORM REVIEW: Bound by Survival Part One by A.J. Wyatt

One of the stories I have been waiting for since the beginning of the series, and it did not disappoint. 

Liz and Killian's pairing has always intrigued me from the start. Two sides of the same coin, they were drawn to each other, not because they were looking for an emotional connection. Yet, the seed has been planted, and now they are bound more closely than they anticipated.

Of course, living within the Cosa Nostra, their relationship comes with threats, and this time it is from both of their worlds. Killian always has a target on his back for being the Underboss, and Liz has secrets of her own as the heiress of a multimillion-dollar corporation.

Mafia with a heart is what A.J. Wyatt specializes in, and this book is another great example. Killian and Liz have had simmering chemistry from the beginning, and it finally ignites here. While the spicy scenes are super-hot, it is the small details that build the emotional bond that has us falling in love along with them.

Killian has a tremendous presence with his "touch her and die" approach to Liz and devil-may-care attitude. He may not hesitate to do anything and everything to carry out orders and protect the Family, but when it comes to Liz, his gentle and protective side is a stark contrast to his Underboss persona. Only someone with an equally big personality can stand toe-to-toe with Killian, and Liz fills those shoes to a T. She is clever, sassy, independent, and fierce. She has a heart of gold when it comes to the people she loves. 

This read not only delivers on spicy romance, but we get action and suspense as well with the impending war between Cosa Nostra and Camorra.

Another fantastic visit to the Cosa Nostra world. This book can be read as a standalone, but it does interconnect with the other books in A.J. Wyatt's series. This is part of a duet, so obviously it will end in a cliffhanger.
