BOOKWORM REVIEW: Beauty and The Coach by Ava Woods

This was a fun short read to kick off Ava Woods' new football romance series.

Shane Garrett is a retired NFL player that covets the Baltimore Royals' head coaching position. Too bad the team owner wants a family man, and Shane's reputation is the opposite of it.

Danica Hart needs someone to save her from her own family. Her spoiled step-cousin just announced her engagement to Danica's cheating ex-boyfriend, and the party is at the venue where Danica wanted her wedding.

When Shane and Danica literally run into each at the coffee shop, they realize that they are each other's salvation. If they can convince Shane's future boss and Danica's family that they are in love, maybe they each can get what they wanted. Or does their chemistry serendipitously have them finding something more?

This was a good introduction to the series. Shane was the ultimate grump who did not believe in commitment and love whereas Danica was the epitome of kindness and romance. There were times when driving these two main points home got a little tedious. I did wish we were able to flush out why Shane was so opposed to love, but for a quick read, this delivered a nice, steamy love story between two complete opposites.

As an appetizer to the main series, this definitely had me intrigued for Zoe and Preston's story.
