BOOKWORM REVIEW: The Single Dad by Marni Mann

Sydney just got back into town, and her friend is dragging her out for a night out to celebrate before school and work take up her schedule. It must be her lucky night because an older hot guy has caught her eye at the bar and he seems to be reciprocating her attention.
One thing led to another, ending with the best night of their lives.
It turns out that Sydney's luck was short-lived. Older hot guy turns out to be Ford Dalton, the dad of her new charge. When Sydney chooses to stay platonic and care for the sweet Everly, these two struggle with the looming attraction that has lingered since their night to remember.
Marni Mann was not playing around with Ford and Sydney. She kicks the book off early with the spicy moments that leave us wanting for more. And the anticipation is clutch as readers wait until Sydney and Ford give up the pretenses that they can stay friendly.
I love that it took the entire Dalton village to care for the adorable Everly. Her dad, uncles, and cousin are clearly wrapped around her cute little finger, and Sydney is the latest to fall for her sweet charm.
I love that Sydney is so mature and self-assured; this made me forget about the age gap between her and Ford completely.
This is the first book I have read in this series, and while there are references to characters from previous books, Marni Mann does a great job of providing enough context to make this a standalone. This read has stirred up a lot of excitement, though, that I want to backtrack and read the previous books before the fourth book in the series comes out.
