I have been counting down to this book ever since we've confirmed that Jana and Kane were secretly meeting up in Second Shot with #76. Now it is here, and it did not disappoint.

Jana now owns the Florida Fury, and being overwhelmed is an understatement when it comes to how she is feeling. Not only did her dad drop this ball on her without warning, but he also hired Kane Burrows as her new head coach. Yes, the same Kane she's been meeting up with in dark rooms and barely lit corners. That Kane.

She and Kane must now make this partnership work, especially since the Furies are the favorites to win the Cup. Can these two handle the pressure and their simmering attraction?

I love these two, though there are moments when I just wanted to shake Jana. Girl, Kane is too good to be true. He is hot, protective, witty, and into you. Not only is he a former goalkeeper, but he is a KEEPER. What are you doing running the other way?

To some extent, I do get her hesitation. She is a woman in a male-dominated world, and she needed to be practically perfect to avoid the wrath of the media and the fans. But how she could hold off from her attraction to the also sweet Kane speaks volumes of her resilience.

These two have been bubbling with tension in the past books, and I am so glad that we finally get them on center stage. I love the book's pace even when we jump through time. Piper Rayne delivers on the chemistry, a little bit of angst, and a whole lot of spice.

I am so sad that we're closing the chapter on our Hockey Hotties, but I am glad that we're getting our preview of the oh-so-witty Lee Burrows. I cannot wait to see him fall from grace and into love.
