BOOKWORM REVIEW: Wright That Got Away by K.A. Linde

What. A. Ride. Wright That Got Away is more than just a second-chance romance between high school sweethearts. It has a great ensemble cast, drama, suspense, and most importantly, spicy romance.
Blaire Barker and Campbell Abbey had history. History that makes Blaire see red when he's around. He cannot blame her, though. After all, he did leave her to make it big in LA as a musician. Now he's gotten exhausted of the life on the road and burnt out from the pressure of producing a better album after his last one tanked with the critics. Taking a break by going back to his family in Lubbock, he and Blaire are stuck with hanging around each other since they have the same circle of friends. Could Campbell convince Blaire that the love they once had is not so dead after all?
The dual POV of this story provides us a wonderful insight into Blaire and Campbell's respective take on their history. It made their short-lived high school romance even sadder and more relatable when we understand what drove them apart. It is also a great reminder about how love is complex and fluid. Their chemistry is amazing; I really liked how K.A. Linde set it up to feel like every interaction they had in the beginning, was a rekindling of a love once lost.
It was always great to see the Wright Clan again and to learn more about Campbell's bandmates. I am a sucker for ride-or-die friendships, and Linde writes the best of them.
I was pleasantly surprised at the element of suspense and mystery in this book. It made the story richer; I just wished it wasn't resolved so quickly. The ending did feel slightly rushed, but a huge part of that is because I just was not quite ready to leave the Wright Vineyards world quite yet.
