One is never too old to swoon over a story about a country music star and her bodyguard.

Kelly Jo Sullivan -- more popularly known as Pixie Hart -- needed a break from the glitz and bright lights of Nashville, so she discretely rents a cabin in Cherry Tree Harbor to get some peace and quiet for two weeks. No fans, no paparazzi, no entourage, no security.

Well, her brother had different plans for that last bit when he hires his buddy and former Navy SEAL Xander Buckley to keep an eye on Kelly since the brother is getting deployed during Kelly's getaway. What he and Xander did not expect is that the cabin is tiny and only has ONE BED.

Kelly may not have wanted a bodyguard, but she definitely wants Xander. When her bodyguard kisses her back, they not only have to grapple with any security threats but also their growing feelings for each other.

The Buckleys are working their way to my favorite family list. I have loved Xander's playful and contradictory presence in Runaway Love, but I love his growly, possessive main character energy even more in this one. Melanie Harlow serves us with an immediate punch of delicious tension between him and Kelly, and that fire just grows throughout the read. I adore the depth of their relationship; despite the nature of their working relationship, the dynamic feels so equal as they support each other in their goals.

The spice? Absolutely sizzling. The immediate chemistry translates so well into their bedroom scenes. Harlow also served us with a great solo moment that was entirely cheeky, and I. Ate. It. Up.

This can be read as a standalone, but I am loving this series so much that I would recommend starting from the beginning to get the full experience.
