BOOKWORM REVIEW: For nEver by Aurora Rose Reynolds

One of the things that get me going during a romance read is a growly hero, and Jace Ellis certainly meets that criterion.

The grumpy boss is not the easiest guy to work with, but if his temporary assistant Penny Beaver can wrangle first-graders, she should be able to handle a growly adult. What she did not anticipate was for her gorgeous curmudgeon of a boss to whisk her away on a plane while tossing a large engagement ring on her lap. His ask: be his fake fiancé for a week in exchange for money, which would certainly help her goal of taking this interim job anyway.

For seasoned romance readers, we all know that fake relationships always lead to something more, and Jace and Penny are no exception. The instant tension hooks readers in. I did wish this single POV read gave us insight into Jace's thoughts; I felt like that would have helped build on their sizzling chemistry more.

As much as I like Jace and Penny, however, the ensemble cast stole the show for me. Jace's family -- especially the grandmother -- was HILARIOUS. The best fictional families are the ones who embrace fun and can bring on the laughs, and the Ellis clan certainly did with this read.
