BOOKWORM REVIEW: Made for You by Natasha Madison
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Vivienne Grant wants space from her family. She may love them to pieces, but sometimes they can just be too much. This leads her to buy a boat, planning an entire summer of writing and living the boat life. What she did not anticipate was moving in next door (or is it next anchor) to grumpy Xavier.
Xavier is a retired NHL player who got tired of the spotlight and is living as a hermit on his boat. When his gorgeous neighbor docked her new boat next to his, he wasn't exactly thrilled to have less personal space. But a friendship soon blossoms, and it starts to become more. But could Xavier reconcile his problems against the league that nearly became his undoing when the person he's falling for is practically embedded in it?
I am so glad that this book took the slow-burn friends-to-lover route. It had so much angst, and Xavier and Vivienne had so much baggage that I was thrilled we got to see it all unpacked and addressed in a wonderful journey of independence, resilience, and love.
This is an emotionally heavy book, so you've been warned coming into it. Was the emotional roller coaster worth it? Absolutely. I especially love Xavier's arc in dealing with being in the spotlight and walking away from it. For all my criers out there: you will need tissues.
This book may be read as a standalone, but it is part of a very intricate book universe by Natasha Madison. Sometimes it can get overwhelming that I need a diagram, but it does not take away too much from the book experience itself.

When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...
