BOOKWORM REVIEW: Simply Mine by Laura Pavlov

Charlotte Thomas has had a massive crush on Ledger Dane for as far as she can remember. However, the up-and-coming architect has always been hot and cold around her, and she suspects that being his sister's best friend might have something to do with it.
Now he is back in town for his sister's wedding, and as best man and maid of honor, they must spend a lot of time together for the wedding preparations. As their time together opens the dam for the feelings that have stayed just under the surface, would they be able to keep them in check for when Ledger leaves town?
I don't know if I am just looking forward to Dylan's book, but this is probably my least favorite of the Thomas Sisters' stories. While Charlotte had her own unique charm, I found it hard to relate to Ledger. I get that he was put in a hard spot by his no-good father and equally slimy boss, but I also felt like he was old enough to set healthy boundaries with these toxic people.
Other than that, their chemistry was well done. Readers will definitely get a sense of deep-seated attraction between these two, and the spicy moments are just a culmination of those feelings being suppressed for so long.
This can be read as a standalone, but Pavlov brings in the sisters and their partners and other characters from previous books. There is plenty of context to their relationships to the main characters, so if you are new, you should not feel lost.
I always adore the Honey Mountain ensemble cast, but Dylan always steals the show from her sisters for me. The countdown has begun for her love story, and I cannot wait.
