Any Nana Malone read is a guaranteed fun and spicy ride, and The Saint is no exception.
Kaya Reynolds has been looking for her missing mother for the last five years. So far, her research has led her to an auction and the one person who last saw her mom before her disappearance. Unfortunately, Rogues agent Jasper Saint also wants her target for his own personal and professional reasons.
They end up sharing a kiss to evade people chasing them. A kiss that sparks a connection that they thought would be one-time, but when it turns out that they needed to fake an engagement, that chemistry born out of one kiss becomes harder and harder to ignore.
This read has the perfect blend of mystery, action, romance, and even sass. I love Kaya and Saint's sassy exchanges. As someone who has the same name as me, I am ecstatic that Kaya is such a fierce and clever female lead. She definitely does not take Saint's closed-off approach to a fake relationship and is able to eventually bring him out of his self-imposed shell.
This book can be read as a standalone, even though I feel like readers would get the most out of it by starting from the beginning of the series. While Nana Malone does a great job of providing background information about events and characters from previous books, there are details and events from The Heir and The King that would make this book even richer. This book also ends in a cliffhanger, so if that is not your jam, you have been warned.
