BOOKWORM REVIEW: The Rebel by Lena Hendrix

I have always enjoyed every trip to Tipp, Montana. This time it looks like I will be taking home an addition to my fictional boyfriend repertoire. 

Effie Pierce has many secrets to hide. Not only is she a famous Hollywood star trying to blend in this small town, but she also has more layers to her than the cool exterior she tries to portray, especially to ranch manager Josh.

Josh Laredo has come back to Redemption Ranch after retiring from the Army. Now he has been charged with overseeing the ranch, including its new tenant Effie. Try as they might, these two cannot seem to squelch the chemistry and tension brewing between them.

I always adore a story about two people who seem like absolute opposites, but are somehow two sides of the same coin. This one embodies that trope so well. Complement that with Lena Hendrix's amazing ability to write relatable characters and swoon-worth scenes, and we get a phenomenal distraction until we get to Gemma and Scott's story. 😉

Josh, Josh, Josh. His charm absolutely shines through, and when Hendrix unveils his dirty, dirty mouth, it definitely levels up the heat that this book brings.

This book can be read as a standalone, but we do get characters not just from the previous (and future) books in this series but also from Hendrix's Chikalu Falls series as well. I wholeheartedly recommend reading all of them.
