BOOKWORM REVIEW: Mine to Cherish by Natasha Madison

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

Luke is back in town after being away for six months, and Clarabella is not exactly thrilled. After all, their last encounter was Luke saying they were a mistake and proceeding to peace out of town. Now he is back with regrets about how he handled their last time together.

Unfortunately, Clarabella is heading down the aisle, but not without second thoughts. When she discovers something on her wedding day, she finds herself running away from the aisle and into a getaway car with Luke on the helm.

Six months have definitely not dulled the tension between Luke and Clarabella. Albeit awkward, their reunion was filled with tension that gives us readers insight into why they had that fling in the first place. It does not let up from there, and we get delicious spicy moments between these two.

I love a man who knows his way around the kitchen, and when you add someone who likes being in control and knows how to assert himself without being a jerk? Yeah, Luke solidifies his spot as one of my favorite MMCs.

I want to give poor Clarabella a hug. I found her to be totally relatable. With a family that is already full of strong personalities and continuously grows with people that have an even bigger presence, her shy, self-conscious personality tends to take a backseat to everyone else's opinions. We see this when her fiance asserts his needs as her own and even when her well-intentioned sisters try to plan her wedding events. While I love that Luke tries to stand up for her, I especially love her character development in finding her voice.

I cannot say enough about how much I love this family. Sure, they need to learn some healthy boundaries, but all of their actions are driven by love.

This book can be read as a standalone, but as someone who adores this family and their love stories so far, I highly recommend starting from the beginning. Speaking of, the official countdown to my favorite sister has begun. Presley, you are in danger (of falling in love), girl.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Things are supposed to go smoothly on your wedding day.
Aren't they?

Clarabella
Did I want to get married today?
It's hard to say when he proposed in front of over a hundred people.
Everything happened so fast, and I thought it was just nerves.
It was not.
The knock on the door showed me that what I was feeling was more than just cold feet.
I was a runaway bride.

Luke
The whole town was busy attending her wedding.
She was the one I let get away when I told her our night together was a mistake and then left town.
So I planned to spend the weekend getting drunk.
When she ran out of the church looking for a hideout, I opened the car door for her.
My cabin has one bed, and my longing looks don't mix well.
Somehow, I have to keep my heart intact and her reputation together.
Maybe she was just mine to cherish.

You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...
