BOOKWORM REVIEW: Mine to Hold by Natasha Madison

Shelby was supposed to get married today, but when her fiancé sent her a love note meant for someone else the night before, her world came crashing down. Thank goodness for her protective albeit meddling sisters and for her best friend Ace.

Ace is also nursing a broken heart. It turns out the intended recipient of the note was his own girlfriend. Now Shelby and Ace are on their way to mend their heartbreak with a little vacation together. Can their proximity -- and newly found freedom -- unearth secrets and hidden feelings?

This was a great friends-to-lovers story about how the universe rights itself for what is meant to be, even if it means a little wedding snafu along the way. Shelby's family cannot seem to catch a break from disastrous weddings, even for experienced wedding planners. It makes for an entertaining intro to Shelby and Ace's love story, though. The tension and chemistry were palpable between these two, and Natasha Madison does a fantastic job of building on it as the story moves forward. The payout in spicy moments was well worth the wait.

I also love the ensemble cast, including Shelby's sisters and Ace's parents. They add wonderfully entertaining facepalm moments that will have you chuckling.

This is the second book in the Southern Wedding series, but it can be read as a standalone. Would you really want to miss the fun, spicy humor in the other reads, though? Yeah, I didn't think so.
