BOOKWORM REVIEW: Beast Charming by Grace Goodwin

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

I love a good fated mates read, and this book is just what I needed.

Tane, an Atlan warrior, is looking for a bride on Earth. His search is now being televised in front of millions of TV viewers, and the line of Earth women wishing to be his mate is long but fruitless. It turns out that the woman he is looking for is late to the ball, sneaking in not to be his one and only but rather to find her charge.

Elena is looking for the teen she watches over, and she's not happy that Abby has snuck away into the alien warlord's ball. Her mood changes, however, once the Atlan warlord sets his sights on her and claims she is his mate. But things are not as easy as they seem, because it turns out Elena's employer strongly opposes the presence of the warriors on Planet Earth and is using his power to banish them once and for all.

I love, love, love this insta-love alien romance. It is loosely based on Cinderella, but Cinderella was not quite as spicy as this book. And this Prince Charming is big, bad, growly, and I am here for it. While Tane might be an intergalactic super-warrior, I really enjoyed that Elena was no damsel in distress and that she and her friends held their own.

This is part of The Interstellar Bride Program series, but it can be read as a standalone. There are references and character cameos from other books, but Grace Goodwin does a great job in providing context so you don't get lost.

If you are dipping your toe into science fiction romance, I would consider this book a great starter into the genre. If you are an SFR veteran, this is a nice quick spicy read that you will enjoy.

** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. Thank you to Grace Goodwin and Grey's Promotions for providing an ARC. **

ABOUT THE BOOK

Warlord Tane of Atlan is a warrior, not a prince.

So why is he wearing these ridiculous white pants and gold-trimmed jacket?

And gods help him, why are there hundreds of females in glittering gowns, circling like vultures, expecting him to dance?

The human producers of the Bachelor Beast television show thought this would be a good idea; dress up an unmated Warlord like a fairytale prince, invite hundreds of eligible human women to a ‘Cinderella Ball’, turn on their cameras, and record everything.

And then he sees her. His mate. The only female who can tame his beast.

But…

This princess wasn’t supposed to be at the ball. A borrowed ballgown. A stolen invitation. A friend in trouble. Everything is going according to plan…until she can no longer resist temptation.

Surely once dance won’t hurt?

Even a dance with a beast.
