If you're looking for a spicy monster romance with all of the fun tropes, look no further than this read.
Briar is looking to escape an abusive marriage, and her attempts are leading her nowhere. Her only hope is to make a deal with a bargainer demon.
The deal: Get married to a dragon for seven years.
It should be easy, right? She is not required to fall in love or be forced into any situation she did not want to be in. Just..cohabitate with a growly dragon that seems to know how to push the right buttons.
This was such a fun, low-angst read. Who would have thought that Sol would be such an alpha-roll and that intimate moments with a big ol' dragon would be this hot? It definitely has a "historical romance with a rakey dragon" vibes, and while I very much enjoyed Sol and Briar's connection, there are moments where side characters like Azazel and Ramanu stole the spotlight.
The details about the scenery are incredible and vivid. It was like playing a colorful movie in my head. Katee Roberts -- as usual -- develops such great world-building that sets readers up nicely for subsequent books. I can tell you that I suspect I might enjoy Azazel's story the most.
