This. Book.
I don't think I have squealed and giggled so much while reading, but Landon and Elle's chemistry is just so spicy and intense that it brings out the schoolgirl in me.
Elle is finally free. She's left her abusive husband and moved to a new town. Before she could move into her new home, she stays in a hotel and meets a gorgeous man in the lobby bar. She and Luca Fritz hit it off and eventually ended up in his room.
But while she thought it would be the last time she saw him, it turns out that he is her new next-door neighbor. And her student's dad. And that he is in fact not Luca Fritz, but Luca's more serious, widower twin Landon.
He is not thrilled about this new development. Skeptical of life and strangers, he prefers to live a single-parent life, taking care of his thirteen-year-old daughter and dealing with his nosy but well-meaning family.
I cannot say enough how much I love this read. Landon's grumpy, growly personality is blindsided by Elle's sunshine, and he cannot stop brooding and marking his territory when he is around her. Despite the adversities that life has thrown at her, I also love that it has not dulled Ellery's light. My favorite of all, however, is their relationship with Stella, Landon's daughter. She is smart, witty, and far more observant than the two bargain for, and I adore that they encourage it and not take away from her brilliance.
The. Chemistry. From their meeting at the bar to the very end, Landon and Elle's interactions are so hot that I was scared they would set my Kindle on fire. There is a window scene that left me fanning myself like a Southern Belle on a hot day.
The Abbott-Fritz men are some of my favorite book heroes. This book is a standalone, but you would be remiss by not experiencing the diverse love stories involving Landon's brothers. In fact, I have officially started my countdown clock to Luca's story.

Something I refuse to do with him. Our button-pushing back and forth never fails to get under my skin. If anything, his sudden off-limits status makes resisting this devil of a single dad that much easier.
Regardless of the temptation he presents. How searing his heated gaze is when I catch him staring. Or how breathless our stolen moments leave us.
After all, this is the fresh start I so desperately need, and I will not let anything get in my way.
No. I can't give in to Doctor Heartless. No matter how hard he tries to change my mind.
