But let's introduce you to Asher and Meadow first.
Meadow is trying to get her footing after a big move into Tampa. A big highway pile-up that involved her car has her crossing paths with Asher, who makes a wrong assumption about Meadow. Fate gives him an opportunity to apologize, but while Meadow accepts it, she runs off. It turns out that these two are opposite sides of the same coin. They are trying to heal from their heartbreaking pasts, which have them hesitant to jump into any serious relationships.
The universe has different plans for them as Meadow and Asher are to work together in putting this year's fundraising calendar together.
I really enjoyed this book, because it was all about second chances. There is a level of predictability in the drama with Asher's ex-wife, but the journey of Asher and Meadow finding peace with their past is what stood out for me. I love that both of them are mature and thoughtful of their own and each other's boundaries.
Serious themes aside, the romance is just spicy. Asher's dirty talk brings the heat to their intimate moments, and I love that Meadow is no shy flower and goes toe-to-toe with Mr. January.
If you're looking for super-spicy romance about second chances, Fired Up is a fantastic read.
