BOOKWORM REVIEW: A Kiss To Remember by Anna B. Doe

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
STEAM: πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

The angst in this book. Let me repeat it for the people in the back of the room. The. ANGST. In. THIS. BOOK.

This read is the kind where you have to carve time to just get under your blankets and have a good cry.

Grace is trying to make huge changes to her life after years of mourning from a serious heartbreak. Just entering college, she is making new friends and cutting her hair. What she didn't expect was a blast from the past coming to bring her past heartache back to her present.

Trent is one of Blairwood's basketball walk-ons. He's just trying to navigate his complicated life without losing his head, and he has a full plate: basketball, his overbearing parents, and his clingy girlfriend. After an unexpected run-in with Grace, he cannot seem to stop himself from gravitating towards her.

This book will take you through a roller coaster of emotions. As I said in the beginning, it is incredibly angsty as these two young people navigate through their own emotions and thoughts. I love the story. Without revealing too much to take away from the experience, it is incredibly unique, and the outcome for me is pleasingly unexpected. There are moments where the pacing can be slow, but the progression of the story kept me pulled in.

I found it hard to relate to Grace, more specifically to the extended heartache over her first love. Maybe I am too old or too practical to remember being so caught in love at such a young age, but agonizing over someone you had a crush on and dated once for a few years was hard for me to understand.

This book can be a standalone, but it is part of an interconnected series whose characters are mentioned or make an appearance in the book.

** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. **

ABOUT THE BOOK

Some moments define the trajectory of your life.

Grace Shelton has experienced her fair share of loss and trauma, but moving to Blairwood is her chance for a new beginning.

For Trent Remington, going to college is a chance to break free of his overprotective parents and finally play basketball.

Some moments will change it forever.

When Grace collides into Trent by accident, she sees the last person she ever expected to find - the boy that’s been haunting her dreams for the past two years. Trent might belong to another girl, but he can’t seem to get the redhead with the sad eyes out of his mind no matter how hard he tries.

Together, they might risk everything for a chance at love, but will a kiss be enough to make him remember?
