BOOKWORM REVIEW: The Boy Upstairs by Amanda Shelley

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

STEAM: 🔥🔥

This was a wholesome read with a great scenic tour of Bear Creek, Washington.

Derek is new to town, and Tessa, owner of a local microbrewery, is determined to become his guide after they shared a miserable experience together with very *LOUD* neighbors. We're talking loud of the wall-banging variety.

They quickly and easily bond, so I almost want to categorize this as a friends-to-lovers, but they are faced with two big problems: Neither feels ready to be in a relationship and Derek is only in town temporarily.

I really like these two characters. They are relatable and seem to be the kind of people you want to be friends with. Their conversations were cute, though sometimes I felt the conversations had a tendency to drag. There were side characters from Amanda Shelley's other books, and while this can stand alone, I felt like I could have had a better experience if I had read her previous books and understand who they are.
