BOOKWORM REVIEW: The Bet by Max Monroe

Club promotions owner Jude and party planner Sophie meet when Jude takes a bet against one of his club's dancers that he could rake in as much as his top dancer does during a private party. Sophie has been roped into pretending to be the bride-to-be when her twin sister Belle nearly has a freak-out at her bachelorette party because she did not want a lap dance.
They were both taken aback by the instant chemistry, and when the mistaken identity is cleared up later on, Jude and Sophie hooks up again and again.
If you're looking for a read with A LOT of sex, this is definitely something you should pick up. The sex was hot, and Jude and Sophie's sexual chemistry is off the charts.
However, the plot was not as tight as previous Max Monroe books I've read. It was incredibly hard to relate to the main characters throughout the book. It was not until the end that Sophie's fear of putting herself out there made sense, but I was still confused about Jude's hot-and-cold approach to relationships.
I was also torn with the side characters. Sophie's relationship with her twin clearly had boundary issues, and Belle was bit too much to handle. I did enjoy the exchanges between Jude and his siblings. It was clear that while they would go to the ends of the earth for each other, they keep each other grounded. This got me looking forward to Remy and Flynn's stories - sorry, Ty, you got some growing up to do. Jude's niece Lexi was my favorite side character. Anyone so little that isn't afraid to put her big bad uncles on blast earns a high-five from me.
