Bedtime stories are not just tales meant to put you to sleep. In Scarlett's case, her grandmother's tales about the wolves that traverse in the dark were clues to family secrets that have been kept quiet for years.

When her grandmother disappeared, Scarlett is determined to find her only to run into one of the wolves that Grandmother talked about in her stories. Brandon, the wolf, is on a mission, but while he knows full well that Scarlett is a distraction, he cannot seem to keep away.

How would they navigate their growing pull to one another, especially when relationships between wolves and humans are forbidden by both of their people?

Scarlett and the Wolf by Lorelei Johnson is the second book of her Tantalizing Tales Collection.  It was a fun short read, and I enjoyed the different spin on Red Riding Hood.

I especially loved Scarlett, who is fierce and smart. Despite the adversities she face before the book starts with the villagers' discrimination against her eclectic grandmother and throughout her adventures with Brandon, she stays true to herself and remains strong and determined.

Lorelei Johnson does a great job in building the tension between Scarlett and Brandon. There is definitely reason to be fearful of the Big Bad Wolf; he might just ruin you for every other man.

Scarlett and the Wolf by Lorelei Johnson is now available and is free with Kindle Unlimited.
